Sigmund Floyd are a live celebration of Pink Floyd, exploring the music, atmosphere and spirit of the band’s iconic 1970s period.Based in Birmingham, the band focus particularly on The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and Animals, often performing these landmark albums in their entirety. Alongside the classics, the set can also venture into lesser-heard corners of the Floyd catalogue, including material from the early Syd Barrett era.We strive to faithfully capture the sound, detail and atmosphere that made Pink Floyd’s music so enduring, while also drawing inspiration from the band’s legendary live performances. Extended passages and moments of improvisation allow the music to breathe and develop naturally on stage, providing a unique experience both on and off stage.That attention to authenticity extends to the equipment used on stage. The band make extensive use of vintage and period-correct instruments, amplifiers and effects, carefully selected to reproduce the distinctive sounds and textures of Pink Floyd’s 1970s recordings and live performances.The members of Sigmund Floyd are around the same age that Pink Floyd were during much of the period that inspires the band’s performances. This brings a young energy and sense of discovery to the timeless Floyd catalogue.Sigmund Floyd have also developed their own light show and bespoke visuals, designed to complement the music and create an immersive live experience.The result is an imperative show that combines the authenticity and attention to detail Floyd fans expect with the energy and spontaneity of a genuine live band.This is a must-see event for any Floyd fan.
