Laurence Jones – Saturday 18th February 2023
At the young age of 17, Laurence Jones signed to Proper Records where he produced his first album and headed out on tour with Johnny Winter and Walter Trout. Recording and producing multiple albums throughout the years including 2016’s ‘Take Me High’ a record which even coaxed producer Mike Vernon (The Beano Album) out of retirement to join the journey.
What would follow were a series of whirlwind events taking Laurence all over the world. With support slots to Joe Bonamassa, appearing on stage with legendary Buddy Guy at Holland International Blues Festival and even heading out on tour with Ringo Starr of The Beatles.
Now his band are formed of Bennett Holland (Backing Vocals, Hammond, Piano and Synth), Jack Alexander Timmis (Bass) and Samuel Jenkins (Drums) and are a perfect blend of tight rhythmic groove and soulful delivery. Laurence’s influences range from Aerosmith to Fleetwood Mac all the way back to Delta Blues but at his heart, is the soul of Rock and Roll.
Introduced into the Hall of Fame in the British Blues Awards for winning Young Artist Of The Year 2014, 2015 & 2016.
Voted Best European Guitarist in the European Music Awards.
Signed to the Marshall Amplification team in April 2021.
Hailed as one to watch as a teenager by the blues media, concert/festival bookers, blues fans and various guitar stars alike, young Laurence really has come of age. The blues cub has become a man with a plan. Turning heads and making jaws drop with his take-no-prisoners, incendiary live set and his stunning records.
